Can you sway someone to believe what you say?

ILA/Journalism: One of the keys to debating is to counter your opponent with concrete, reasonable facts that support your side of the argument. Take a look at the comments posted on the Social Networking post and find someone who has taken the opposite stance as you. Refute their argument by presenting facts or details that support YOUR side of the argument. You MUST be professional and respectful in all responses. Remember, I see and approve EVERYTHING!

Photo Assignments

Journalism: Check your photo assignments grade in Pinnacle. The grade accounts for all assignments that were found at www.signupgenius.com. If you have taken other photos this semester (since January 24th) that are not on that list, you need to leave me a comment with the details (Date-Event-File Folder Name) so you can get points for it. This includes on-campus shoots during the day. Remember, it is possible to get extra credit via photos, so turn EVERYTHING in. The last day for photo assignment grades is June 6th.

FCAT Experience/Unit One Progress

ILA: So, this week you participated in FCAT retakes, for the second time this year, in most cases. We moved to computerized-testing for both the reading and math tests. Respond to this post answering the following questions: Which do you prefer – the paper test or the computerized-test, and why? What are the challenges and benefits associated with each of the options?

Journalism: Your Unit One portfolio is due, with presentations on the First Amendment to begin on Tuesday. Tell me about your progress through the Unit. The First Amendment is a huge asset for student journalists, and I am passionate about you having the rights to cover what happens on your campus. This piece of the Unit is especially important to me and it I hope you are realizing how important it is to know your rights.

Respond to this post answering the following questions: What have you learned that you’ve found interesting or most surprising? What are your challenges with finishing this assignment on time (keep in mind that if you have to be told to get off the Internet and go to work, saying you don’t have enough time probably isn’t going to be a valid challenge with me)?

All Classes: Remember, your points will be docked if you do not have the appropriate spelling, punctuation and grammar.
